The first advisory meeting of ACCEER was held at CHALCO’s headquarters in Beijing on 28th September 2006.
The meeting was attended by the Australian and Chinese governments’ representatives and all ACCEER participants. Advice and suggestions were sought
on a range of ACCEER issues, such as: strategic planning and management; establishment of regular forums for multiple disciplines; mechanisms for
collaboration on research by industry and universities; and training courses for professionals.
All participants agreed that ACCEER should convene an advisory meeting annually and establish a newsletter and website to be maintained in both
the Chinese and English languages. It was agreed that Monash University will host the next workshop in Melbourne, Australia in 2007.
